A popular and participatory festival that dates back to 1321, in 1996 was declared Traditional Festival of National Interest by the Generalitat de Catalunya and in 2002, Festival of National Tourist Interest by the Spanish Government. Santa Tecla lasts two weeks, starts in the second half of September.
