Costa da Morte Sky Scape

From Miradoiro 38 located at the old stone village of Sofan, the camera’s gaze sweeps the rooftops, the wild arc of Carnota Bay, Caldebarcos, the sacred bulk of Monte Pindo, and the distant “Lands End”—Cape Finisterre. Each frame, 80% sky, becomes a blank canvas for wind, storms, stars, and sunsets; an ethereal opera curtain rising and falling over everyday life.

September 2025

01 Monday

On 1 September 2025 at Carnota–Finisterre, sunrise came around 8:03 and sunset near 20:56 (CET), framing a late‑summer day of mild Atlantic air. Temperatures ran from about 17 °C at first light to roughly 22–23 °C in the afternoon, with no significant rain recorded, only passing cloud bands and high coastal humidity close to 75–85%. Winds blew mainly off the ocean from the west–northwest at gentle to moderate force, around 10–20 km/h, stirring a slight to locally moderate sea state in Carnota Bay. Atmospheric pressure held near the September mean of 1,018 mb, visibility stayed generally good along the coast, cloud cover shifted between broken and mostly cloudy skies, the UV index peaked at a moderate level around 5, and the tide cycle brought an early‑morning high tide followed by a late‑morning low, then a second, softer high tide through the afternoon.
